Are you licensed and insured?
We are licensed by the states of Utah as a roofing contractor. Our insurance covers both workers compensation and liability.
How long will a new roof installation take?
Time depends on the size and difficulty, but the average size roof will take 4 to 5 days.
Will we need to move out of our home?
No. Interruption to normal daily activity is minimal.
How do you know if I need a new roof?
The following are things that may indicate that your roof needs replacing:
- Missing, cracked or curling shingles
- Blistering or peeling paint
- Shingle, sheathing or siding decay
- Leakage in the attic after heavy rains
- Stains on interior walls or ceilings
High energy bills
How often should I clean my gutters?
Gutters should be cleaned at least once in the summer and twice in the fall.
Can heavy snow damage my roof?
Yes! It is important to keep heavy snow off your eavesdrops and cleared out of your ridge vents.
My roof leaks. Do I need to have it totally replaced?
Not necessarily. Leaking can result because some flashings have come loose or because a section of the roof has been damaged. A roof failure, however, is generally irreversible and results from improper installation or choice of materials, or from the installation of a roof system inappropriate to the building.
Can't I just do the work myself?
Most work should not be do-it-yourself. Professional roofing contractors are trained to safely and efficiently repair or replace a roof. Novices can harm a roof with improper roofing techniques and severely injure themselves by falling off or even through a roof in need of repair or replacement. Homeowner maintenance should be confined to roof inspections in both the fall and spring to check for cracked or curling shingles, and to cleaning rain gutters filled with dead leaves and other debris. If you must see the roof for yourself, use a firmly braced or tied-off ladder equipped with rubber safety feet. Wear rubber-soled shoes and stay on the ladder (and off the roof) if possible.
What type of roof do I put on my house?
Whatever you think will look good on your home. Putting a roof on your home is not only an important financial decision, but it has an important aesthetic value for you home too. When you drive up to your home, you say to yourself "that's a nice looking roof."
What color should I choose?
The color of roofing material should blend with and compliment your home. It should not be the focal point though.
How soon after a call can you come out to complete a job?
It depends on the workload and weather. Unfortunately when rains come and people need us the most, we are the busiest. During some of those times it can take roofers weeks to get to a job, but no matter how busy we are, we are prompt with returning phone calls and letting clients know how are schedule looks.
